NATHAN McKINNEY

BIO
Nathan McKinney, a Colorado native, has been assisting the legal needs of clients in Colorado Springs since 1998, and compassionately works towards resolution in difficult times.
Nathan has been married to Jill McKinney since 1989. They have two children, Natalie and Jacob.
Natalie has graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Jacob is currently a junior at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
Nathan opened McKinney & Associates, PC in 2001, and devotes his personal touch to each legal issue and case that comes through our doors.

STEPHEN McWHIRTER

BIO
Stephen McWhirter served in the U.S. Army as an intelligence analyst before studying history at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Steve has been a civil litigator since becoming licensed to practice law in Colorado in 2009. He is licensed to practice in state and federal court in Colorado, and holds inactive attorney status in Nebraska and Wyoming.
When not serving his clients' needs, Stephen enjoys spending time in Colorado's forests with his wife and two daughters, as well as reading spy novels and history books.

Karen Dowling
Personal Injury Paralegal
Karen joined McKinney & Associates in early June 2023 handling pre-litigation and litigation cases.
She has over 30 years’ experience in personal injury, with studies in New York and Colorado. Her passion and honor is assisting our clients through the legal process.
Karen is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens and worked in New York City until the Colorado mountains called her in 2004. After all these years, still has her NY accent. Karen is in a dedicated relationship and the proud mother of two children, Gabrielle and Shea.

I’ve been a family law paralegal over 20 years. Mother of 5 and grandmother of 7. In my spare time you’ll find me on the trails running, indoor skydiving, on the range shooting, or maybe hanging out at the movies.
Jill McKinney
Office Manager & Billing
Jill McKinney has been the Office Manager for McKinney & Associates, P.C. since the firm's opening in 2001. She enjoys her current career because of the opportunity to run the business with her husband, Nathan McKinney.
Jill holds an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Colorado Mountain College, and a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Affairs from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Outside of the office, Jill enjoys hiking, hunting, and camping in beautiful Colorado.
